Beautiful Jane Eyre

A trip to Borders last night found me purchasing this gorgoues new Penguin Classic Deluxe Edition of Jane Eyre. It is true that I do have several copies of Jane Eyre on my shelves already - but really, how could I resist??

  2. It looks amazing! Penguin have outdone themselves. I love books that have those uneven pages.

i read Jane Eyre for the first time a couple of weeks ago and absolutely fell in love.

I loved it so much I don't think I am even capable of writing a review of it - I am just in too much awe to even attempt it.

  4. I love the cover, too, but unlike Becky, I dislike the deckle-edge-ish pages. It steals that crisp quality that is one of my favorite things about new books.

  5. Amazing cover! As far as having several copies of Jane Eyre - that is awesome! I'm the same way when it comes to two books in particular - Cat's Cradle and A Confederacy of Dunces. I figure these are my two favorite reads, why not?

  7. Hi Letter4no1 - I do love the WH cover too (although I am not such a fan of that book itself!).

Hi Coffee - I know what you mean!!

Hi Anbolyn - it is just gorgeous!

Hi Becky - I love books with those sorts of pages too - I almost buy books with those pages just for that reason!!
I know what you mean about JE - it is such a stunning book.

Hi Jillian - I am exactly the same - I have started buying books just for their covers alone!

Hi Sara - that is so intersting to hear you say that - as I said to Becky I love those sorts of pages!!

Hi Nadia - I have a few copies of Persuasion (my fave Jane Austen) too!

Hi Jill - They are such beautiful editions - classic yet modern at the same time I think.

  18. I have kind of a strange question about the Penguin Deluxe Editions. I really wanted to buy this edition of Jane Eyre, along with some of the other Penguin Deluxe Editions but when I opened them in the store they all had a strong kind of chemical smell. I don't know if it is the adhesive or the ink they're using, but I am sensitive to those kinds of things. Did you happen to notice that? If so, do they ever air out?
