Paris In July - It's Almost Time!

I can't believe how the time is flying - we are half way through the year and it is almost time for Paris In July to start! We have 53 people signed up and ready to participate which is fantastic but it is not too late to join in the fun - just leave a comment on this post and I will add your name to our list.
I have to admit to being quite busy over the past few weeks and I haven't had a lot of spare head space to start thinking about the books and movies I am planning to enjoy for the month - this weekend might allow some time for that I hope. I have pulled one of my books off the shelf in preparation, Shannon Bennett's Paris looks like the perfect option to start the month with. What are other people going to be starting off with??

I will be back on the 1st July to officially kick the month off. After that there will be weekly wrap up posts, prizes to be given away as we go along and posts from Tamara as she winds her away around France. Looking forward to all of the Paris themed fun.

    Love that cover of your book! I'm excited to get started on this challenge! I'm debating between Lunch in Paris of A Novel Bookstore to kick off Paris in July. Can't wait!

    Yey! I'm really excited about this. I have 5 books that are translated from French (maybe a few more, just waiting to hear back from a publisher), 1 vampire novel set in Paris, one non-fiction book, and 6 French films to watch! Plus I'll have some photography to feature to.

    I did look at a day trip across the channel but without a car and not knowing the language I think a trip to Normandy might have been the end of me!

    Karen, What a beuatiful looking book.. It's awesome to see so many people joining us for July... So many great idea's being posted. I have yet found a book to read on the 20 hr plane journey to Paris, so I;m going to review a few blogs this week for ideas.

    I found BookBath in somebody's blogroll and I think this Paris thing is neat. I have been meaning to read A Year in the Merde by Stephen Clarke and also some classic French literature (I remember enjoying Pere Goriot, Madame Bovary and Les Miserables as a teenager and it's time for a re-visit). I'm sure there are many banned books in French literary history...especially in the colonies...I've got some French movies I love, too.

    I'm excited! I've pulled some books off my shelf in preparation! I'm going to start with my ARC of French Lessons by Ellen Sussman (which was actually released on Tuesday!) then move on to Suite Francaise by Irene Nemirovsky, The Last Time I Saw Paris by Lynn Sheene, and The Sharper Your Knife The Less You Cry by Kathleen Flinn!

    I cheated a little and packed four books about France for my vacation which technically started in June. But all the postings will start this week so I hope they'll count.

    So far I've read Tapestry of Love by Rosy Thornton and Cooking for Kings by Ian Kelly, a biography about Antoine Careme, the first celebrity chef. And I'm halfway through Germinal by Emile Zola, which is just great. I should finish it on the plane ride home!

    I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17 inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83 being delivered to our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay expensive retail prices at stores.
