Overall I felt this years short list was very strong - I have really loved all of the books I have read from it so far with the exception of Room which I thought was great but not something that grabbed me as much as I thought it would. I still have Annabel and Grace Williams Says It Loud to read...

Thanks for the update! I was wondering who won. I haven't read the book yet, but have it on my TBR list - thanks to your review of it! Can't wait to read it now :) I still wantt to read Annabel and a few others from the longlist - there were quite a few good ones on it this year. As for Room - I'm so glad it didn't win.
GAH! I was SO CLOSE to actually having this one read BEFORE the award was announced.
Very happy for Tea Obreht. What a talent!
I am about half way through this book and I am really enjoying it.
I've heard such great things about it. I'm something like hold 68 on 30 copies in the library system, so hopefully I'll get to it before the end of the year!
I haven't read The Tiger's Wife, but I completely agree with you about Room! I thought I was the only one who wasn't blown away by it!
I'm reading it right now - 100 pages in - and enjoying it. Can't say I'm disappointed, despite not reading anything else on the shortlist.
Hi Nadia - I've just started reading Annabel and am loving it already - the story and the way it is told really hooks you in.
Hi Andi - I know what you mean! I am usually reading the books long after they are announced as winners!
Hi Becky - I hope you continue to enjoy it all the way through to the end!
Hi Audra - Wow!! That is a lot of holds!! Hope they read quickly for your sake!
Hi JP - It's so nice to find another person not blown away by Room!!
Hi anothercookiecrumbles - it is such a special book I think - original and unique.
