I am being fairly strong in my resolution not to buy any new books at the moment but this book - I Love Macarons (which was on sale I must say!) did hook me in. After our trip to the gorgeous Laduree in Paris I am now a macaron advocate - I'm not so sure that I will be able to re-create anything as yummy and beautiful as what we sampled at Laduree but I will give it a go! The reviews for the book on Amazon seem to indicate that the look of the book may be more impressive than the cooking instructions but we will see...

Macaron's and Vogue what more could you want? And that is soooo Paris. I am a huge fan of Macarons and so am quite envious of this book. The best ones I ever tasted were in Zurich so if you ever go there serious stock pile some they are just amazing!
Wow! Love that pic of the macaroon's on the book - yummy! And a new copy of vogue - yay! I love buying magazines and sometimes I'll go to Borders so I can buy a copy of Red or Easy Living (2 UK mags I was addicted to when I lived there) so I can see what is going on in England and pretend that I'm still there. I saw a recipe for macaroons on Pen, Paper and Cake (a blog I visit regularly) - Vanessa took a class and learned how to make them. Cheers!
Good luck with the macaroons - they sound hard to make!
Macarons and Vogue - I am envious! Sounds heavenly.
I am also a big fan of macarons; there's a French patisserie chain here, Paul's, who do delicious macarons and j'adore their pistachio and raspberry ones.
I love macarons as well, although they can be a chore to make!
The most reliable recipe I've found is on the Not quite Nigella food blog- the link is http://www.notquitenigella.com/2009/06/29/paintbrush-macarons/
oh, to taste a french macaron! <3

So many pretty things! I love just looking at macarons - I'm not a huge fan of the taste, but they're so beautiful.
I live in Canada and I buy UK decorating mags all the time. Not quite as good as being there, but better than nothing!
Haha, I like to pretend I'm living in the UK too :) Although I wouldn't mind all that beautiful Australian sunshine - Canada can be a bit bleak, especially in the winter. Sunshine is wonderful :)
I love Macarons too! They're difficult to make though. I tried a recipe by Nigella once and it was a disaster! I better just stick to buying them. Looks like it's a pretty book though.
oooh, those macarons look so yummy! when we think macarons here in new jersey, they are some coconut confection. but i know the light and airy ones on your new book are the real thing! good luck baking. :)
The making of a 21st century Proustian novel! And of course you love pretty things!
Hi Simon - I have only been to Zurich airport before and I felt envious then of people who were actually able to get out and explore the city - now I am even more so!!
Hi Nadia - I love RED too - definitely another fave. I will have to check out that blog you mentioned.
Hi Jackie - I know - I'm wondering if they are the best thing for me to try and cook!!
Hi Claire - I'm so jealous, I think I would have to look far and wide to find a shop selling decent macarons where I live.
Hi adevotedreader - thanks for the tip!
Hi Aimee - they were divine!
Hi thecaptivereader - definitely not as good as being there but I will take it for now!
Hi stockdove - I am a huge fan of the sunshine too - that is my big dilemma about actually wanting to move to the UK - I would really, realy miss the Australian summers.
Hi Mrs B - I'm getting a little scared about attmepting these!! I think I might need to be a little more realistic with my cooking ambitions!
Hi Natalie - I think I am going to need all the luck I can get!!
Hi Frances - such a great comment! I will need to read Proust one day so that I can make comments like that and know what I am talking about!
Macaroon, Laduree, Vogue, Paris - tres chic mon amie! Very elegant and a truly beautiful book. You dont have to make the macaroons - doesn't Laduree deliver?
Hi T - I wish!!!!
