New Toy

My reading time has been eaten into a little bit over this weekend as I have a new toy to play with.

I have debated whether or not to get an iphone for the longest time - I wouldn't exactly call myself "tech savvy" and my partner is more likely to be the one with the new gadgets - but something finally caught me and I gave in to the iphone craze!

I have been learning the ways of my new phone (and grieving for some of the ways of my old phone which I did love dearly) but some of the gizmos on the iphone are keeping me happy - especially the applications that allow you take old time photos - very cool!

Are there any other applications that you would recommend? Are there any book/writing applications that are particularly good?

Scrabble on your iPhone also becomes pretty addictive. Good for you and your new toy! I just love mine.

I'm jealous.... I'm trying to decide whether to wait for my contract to be up before I get one or just go and get one. The first app I'd get would be the photo one you've just described.
Enjoy your new toy.

Words with Friends is pretty cool. Stay away from Angry Birds, though....what a time suck!

Hi Jacki - Thanks for the tip!

Hi Yvann - I will have to check that out.

Hi Frances - I think I am beginning to love it now - I can definitely see its potential! I'm still grieving for my old phone a little...

Hi Joan - My contract was up and my provider gave me the option of the iphone so I thought I would give it a go. They are way too expensive over here to buy I think.

Hi Brenna - thanks for the tips - I haven't heard of any of those.

Hi Jill - I've heard that!! Fruit Ninja is currently sucking my time!

I had an iPod Touch and I gave in and got an iPhone. Loooove it! Though I'm addicted to the games more than anything. Cut the Rope is simple, cute, and a total timesuck. :)

Most major national newspapers have Apps for reading online content. Sure it's killing traditional print media, but it's completely awesome. I use the Globe and Mail App (being Canadian and all).

Hi Michael - thanks for the tip.

Resistance is futile Karen! :P And lets face it, that app store is kinda rad huh?!

Congrats! I love my iPhone. My Goodreads app gets a lot of use, as does my life-saving MobileRSS application that allows me to whittle down my Google feed readers. I use that to scroll through posts quickly, star the ones I later want to comment on, etc. I also love my Fandango app so regardless of where I'm at, I can see movies playing in the area. I can't always catch films, but I like that I can keep up on them there!

Have fun!

Hi antipodeanowl - I'm definitely having fun exploring all the apps - although I'm trying hard not to get too caught up in it all!

Hi Becky - that sounds like a great app for the movies - I will have to check it out. Thanks!

Hello,
I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing several
weeks of hard work due to no data backup. Do you have any solutions
to stop hackers?
